Reid + Reid x Almighty Beetroot Red Snapper
A wise Texan cowboy once told us that the bloody mary is the ultimate drink for flying. Perfect at anytime of the day, it “just takes the edge off.” He was right.
This spicy wee number is our take on the red snapper. It’s a classic bloody mary recipe made with beet juice instead of tomato and Reid + Reid gin instead of vodka. Flight or no flight, the Beetroot Red Snapper is a guaranteed good time. Suitable day, night, 11am Sunday… whenevs.
- 1 wedge of lemon
- 1 teaspoon ground celery
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 90ml Almighty Beetroot, Blackcurrant & Ginger juice
- 45ml Reid + Reid gin
- 3 dashes tabasco sauce
- 10ml of worcestershire sauce
- 15ml of lemon juice
- celery stalk
- pickled beetroot slices (optional)
- Black pepper
Mix ground celery with sea salt in a shallow saucer. Rub the rim of the serving glass with a lemon wedge and coat the wet rim with the ground celery-salt. Fill serving glass with ice cubes.
In a shaker or Boston mixing glass (or jar), add Reid + Reid gin, tabasco sauce, worcestershire sauce and lemon juice. Top with ice & approx. 90ml of Almighty Beetroot, Blackcurrant & Ginger juice. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
Strain over ice into the chilled serving glass. Garnish with a celery stalk and beetroot slices. Top with black pepper.
